Booking Through Thursday

"Are you a spine breaker? Or a dog-earer? Do you expect to keep your books in pristine condition even after you have read them? Does watching other readers bend the cover all the way round make you flinch or squeal in pain?"

I'm definitely not a dog-earer. I always use a bookmark. I don't like the look of dog-eared pages in books. I'm not a spine breaker with my books either. I want my books to still look new (if I purchased them brand new) on my book shelves. I do have to say I am a spine breaker with library books (and used books I've purchased), if someone else has previously broken the spine. If I check out a brand new book, then I'll return it in pristine condition. I just pretend it's one of my brand new books. Seeing someone bend a book cover doesn't make me flinch... Well, I geuss it would if it was one of my books.

  1. Ugh, I never even try to think of where library books have been. But I just can't help it about the damage at times.

    Thanks for stopping by!

  2. I don't like to lend my books, and I really don't want to borrow other's. I use the library, and I respect the property that is not mine.

  3. I'm pretty much the same - I don't care if others break their books' spine but I would literally scream at someone if they were doing it to my books!

  4. Have to confess I do dog-ear from time to time. But I also like to use bookmarks to mark my place - I collect all kinds of bookmarks and always have lots handy, so I really don't have any excuse for the bad behavior!
