I'm definitely not a dog-earer. I always use a bookmark. I don't like the look of dog-eared pages in books. I'm not a spine breaker with my books either. I want my books to still look new (if I purchased them brand new) on my book shelves. I do have to say I am a spine breaker with library books (and used books I've purchased), if someone else has previously broken the spine. If I check out a brand new book, then I'll return it in pristine condition. I just pretend it's one of my brand new books. Seeing someone bend a book cover doesn't make me flinch... Well, I geuss it would if it was one of my books.
Ugh, I never even try to think of where library books have been. But I just can't help it about the damage at times.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!
I don't like to lend my books, and I really don't want to borrow other's. I use the library, and I respect the property that is not mine.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty much the same - I don't care if others break their books' spine but I would literally scream at someone if they were doing it to my books!
ReplyDeleteHave to confess I do dog-ear from time to time. But I also like to use bookmarks to mark my place - I collect all kinds of bookmarks and always have lots handy, so I really don't have any excuse for the bad behavior!
