Sunday Salon

The Sunday Salon.com

It's Sunday once again... I decided to read outside again today. This time I went off my main running trail and sat by the pond. I got there pretty early and thought it would be just me, however there were a lot of people walking their dogs, running or just basically sitting enjoying the sun. It was a nice start to my Sunday afternoon.

I had a good week, reading wise. I set a goal to read at least 100 pages each day this month. I missed two days, but easily made them up this weekend. I'm not sure how realistic this goal is because two weeknights are filled with church activities and other appointments, but I'm just doing the best that I can. I would like to reach my goal of 100 books in 2008, so I thought reading more each day will help me accomplish this. Actually, I think I should make this goal. I just finished #85 and I think I should be able to read 15 more books by Dec. 31st.

Yesterday I finished Scot on the Rocks (my review is here) by Brenda Janowitz. I really liked this book. I read reviews on Amazon and immediately added it to my TBR list. When I ran across it at my public library, I decided to check it out and I'm glad that I did. I also have the follow-up book, Jack with a Twist, sitting on my dresser waiting its turn to be read.

After I finished Scot on the Rocks, I dove right into Murder 101. It rained all day yesterday (the after effects from Hurricane Hanna) and I wanted to curl up on my couch with a cozy mystery. To my surprise, I picked the right book (my review is here). I will definitely read the next book in the series.

Later this afternoon, I plan to start Sweet Love by Sarah Strohmeyer. I've read several glowing reviews on other blogs, so I'm looking forward to reading it.

Well, that's it from my little corner of the world. How are you spending your Sunday? Until next week...

Thanks for the compliment about my blog!

Yes, 85 books is a lot. Normally I read between 52-60 books each year.

  6. I always plan to read outside..but I never get around to it. I live in California too so I have no excuse..the weather is usually quite nice.

I need to set a goal as far as how many pages I read a day. I don't do that so it is feast or famine. I am going to do that now after reading your post.
