Kid Konnection

Title: Presenting. . . Tallulah
Author: Tori Spelling
Illustrator: Vanessa Brantley Newton

Summary: Tallulah's parents tell her she's special and that makes her different from the other kids. She's not allowed to wear jeans or get dirty. During recess at school, the other children won't allow her to play with them because they think she's too fancy. So everyday, Tallulah stands by herself watching them play.

Until one day she meets Max. Max is another boy at school and he's fancy too. His clothes are different than the other boys in her class. Tallulah and Max become friends. Together they learn that being different isn't really a bad thing after all.

  1. My daughter wears dresses and tights to school but that never stops her from playing on the playground. Now you have me intrigued.

  4. Brimful - This is a cute book. The illustrations are vivid and help make the book pop. I think this would be a good book to read with your daughter.

Kathy - LOL! I know! I thought so too. After reading the story, I wondered how similar it is to her own childhood.

Julie - I haven't read her memoirs yet (they're on my TBR list), but was intrigued when I saw this at Borders. I'm wondering if she'll bring back these characters in future books.
