I slept in until 7am (that's sleeping in for me!) and felt well-rested. I got up, baked cinnamon rolls, fed my cats and began focusing my attention on my reading area: my couch. I have Jim Brickman playing in the background and as soon as my clock said 8am, I was ready to start.
This is my first time participating in Dewey's Read-A-Thon, so I'm not sure what to expect. I really just want to spend time reading and relaxing today. I know I won't read the entire 24 hours as I plan to stop around 10 or 11pm tonight. I wake up early for church on Sunday mornings.
Ok, on to my stats:
Hours: 8am-11am
Time spent reading: 155 min
Pages read: 239
Books completed: 2
Currently reading: Moving Day - Allie Finkle's Rules for Girls Book One by Meg Cabot
Books read:
- I Heard a Rumor by Nancy Krulik (How I Survived Middle School #3)
- The New Girl by Nancy Krulik (How I Survived Middle School #4)
Traditional read-a-thon blessing:
ReplyDeleteMay the bookshelf be there to greet you.
May all the books appeal.
May the fridge be full of tasty snacks;
the words fall soft upon your eyes and until the read-a-thon ends,
may you always hold a book in the palm of your hand.
Good luck today!
Hope your still enjoying yourself and feeling full of beans :D
ReplyDeleteIt's really difficult to stay up the 24 hours. I couldn't do it last time. I couldn't even do it in college when a paper was due! Have a great time reading!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Day; enjoy your books, and take time to rest as well. It is pouring here so it's the perfect day to be in the house reading and relaxing!
ReplyDeleteHappy Read-a-Thon day! I hope the first few hours have been treating you well. Have fun today and enjoy the wonderful books you have lined up :)
