Reading On the Go
I decided to join another weekly event. Musing Mondays is hosted by Rebecca. Each week Rebecca will ask us to blog about a question regarding books. Today's question is:
Do you take a book with you? Do you take whatever book you’re currently reading, or do you have a special on-the-go book? And do you have a preference for a these types of book (paperback, hardback; short stories; poetry etc)?
I try to have a book with me at all times (excluding church...unless you count the Bible). In the past, I've found myself waiting around trying to pass the time, thinking "if only I had my book!" So, lately I'm trying to get into the habit of putting the book I'm currently reading in my work tote or next to my purse so I won't forget it on my way out. No, I don't have a "special on-the-go book".
For my personal library, I prefer hardbacks on my book shelves. I just like the way they look. Having said that, I prefer to read paperbacks because they're more convenient, portable and easier to tuck in a bag or my purse (without weighing it down). For some reason, I'm more protective of my hardback books. I hate taking them with me in fear that I might rip the book jacket, spill something on it, etc. (which is funny because I could do those things inside my house).

Welcome to musing mondays. I stopped taking a just in case book and found myself in one too many situations where I could have used one. After today's question, going to start taking one everywhere. :)

Welcome to Musing Mondays!
ReplyDeleteHope to see you back playing with us all next week.
Hi there, I really like your stats on the sidebar of your 2009 booklist. Would you mind terribly if I did the same? Didn't want to just usurp your idea :)
ReplyDeleteRebecca-
ReplyDeleteThanks for the welcome. Feel free to use the stats. I actually got the idea after reading someone else's blog. I, too, thought it would be a good way to keep track of my personal goals (and to have them in front of my face as a reminder).
Thanks for that! It looks handy for next year :)
